When I was a child, I used to make a sweet treat out of fried Chinese rice noodles. I think they were covered with either butterscotch or peanut butter, thus giving them the color of hay. It may have been baked on afterwards.

These are the thin wafer-like cookies that are served with ice cream. In the store (ie. Williams Sonoma), they're usually in a tin; often in large rounds, divided into wedge shapes, much like a traditional Scottish shortbread, but this is very thin, airy and delicate, the texture like a few layers of tissue paper, in a wedge-shaped wafer.
