Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup white corn syrup
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 egg whites ,stiffly beaten
- 1t vanilla
- 1/2 cup broken nuts
Directions
Place first three ingredients in sauce pan over low heat. Stir until sugar is dissolved; then cook with out stirring to 252 degrees ( a little dropped into cold water forms a hard ball).
Remove from heat and pour, beating constantly, in a fine stream into the egg whites until mixture holds its shape and loses its gloss. Then add the vanilla and nuts.
Drop quickly from tip of spoon onto waxed paper in individual peaks . .; . or spread in greased shallow pan and cut into 1"" squares when firm.
