Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups confectioners sugar
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar

Directions

Blend first 5 ingredients. Add remaining ingredients. Mix well. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour.

Roll dough 1/4 - 1/8 inches. Cut in desired shapes. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 375 degrees until edges are lightly brown (7-8 minutes). Makes 5 doz. 1/2 inch cookies.
Creamy Decorator's Frosting to ice cookies with:
1 cup confectioner's sugar 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 1 or 2 tablespoons cream or half-and-half food coloring (optional)

Blend ingredients; makes enough for 3-5 doz. cookies
