Mixture may appear curdled, after cooking.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup long grain rice
  • 1/3 cup raisins
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions

In heavy medium saucepan bring milk to boiling, stir in uncooked rice, raisins, and salt. Cover, cook over low heat stirring occasionly, for 30-40 min or til most of the milk is absorbed. Spoon into dessert dishes, dot with buter and sprinkle with mix of sugar and cinnamon.
