Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 t. sugar
  • 3/4 t. salt
  • 1 1/2 C. lukewarm water
  • 4 C. flour

Directions

Dissolve yeast in water. Add remaining ingredients. Knead mixture to a soft dough. Cut into 12 pieces. Roll into ropes and twist into pretzel shapes. Lay pretzels on cookie sheet sprayed with cooking spray. Brush pretzels with beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse salt. Let rise for 30 minutes. Bake at 400 degrees until golden brown. Makes 1 dozen.

Easy Soft Pretzels
