I noticed this recipe didn't state when to add the noodles, so I assume you'd add them with the vegetables.
Ingredients
- 2(8 oz.) pkgs. egg noodles
- 2 lbs. hamburger
- 1 lb. Italian sausage
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1 c. onion, chopped
- 1 c. celery, chopped
- 3/4 c. green pepper, chopped
- 3/4 c. mushrooms, sliced
- 1/4 c. jalapeno pepper, chopped
- 2 (8oz.) cans tomato sauce
- 1 (10 1/2 oz.)can zesty tomato soup
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 1 lb. Monterey Jack cheese, grated
Directions
Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside. In a large skillet, brown hamburger and sausage. Drain. In separate pan, saute vegetables in butter until barely tender. Add sauteed vegetables, tomato sauce, tomato soup, salt and pepper to browned meat. Mix well. Pour into 13-1/2x8-1/2-inch greased baking dish.
Bake at 375 degrees F. for 30-40 minutes. Sprinkle cheese over casserole, return to oven. Bake 350 degrees F. for 10-12 minutes.
Serves 12.
