Very easy, very cheap, very good!

Ingredients

  • 1 Box Prepared Pie Crust (Pillsbury's)
  • Fresh Peaches
  • Sugar
  • Cinnamon
  • Water
  • Butter
  • 1 egg (optional)

Directions

There are no specific measurements to this recipe, just go by look and common sense.

Take one of the prepared pie crusts and place in the bottom of a greased glass pan. I use the 9x12 Pyrex dish. Place sliced peaches over this crust until it is about 1 inch deep over the crust. Sprinkle sugar over the crust, depending on how sweet your peaches are and how sweet you like your deserts. I typically use about 1/3 to 1/2 cup. If you wish, you can sprinkle cinnamon as well at this time. Add just a little bit of water if unless your peaches are very juicy. Dot the top with butter. Take the other pie crust and cut it in to thin strips. You can place these like a lattice over the top of the fruit. If you want a prettier finish, you can spread some egg yolk over the crust and sprinkle with sugar. Place in a 375 degree oven and bake until bubbly and brown on top. This is especially good warm with vanilla ice cream. Not a fancy dessert, but tasty.
