Makes 9 dozen. Recipe can be easily cut in half.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 5 cups blended oats (blend to a powder in blender)
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 cups butter or margarine
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 8 ounce chocolate bar (grated)
  • 3 cups chopped nuts

Directions

Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C). Cream butter and both sugars. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix in all dry ingredients, except chocolate and nuts. Stir those in, after all ingredients are mixed well. Roll dough into 1 1/2 - 2 inch balls (do not press) and place 2 inches apart on a cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes.
