Ripeness of mangoes will determine amount of sugar needed. Use less sugar for sweeter mangoes.


  • Crust for 8-inch 2 crust pie
  • 3 cups peeled and sliced mangoes
  • 1/4 - 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoon flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon butter


Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Fit bottom crust into pie shell. In large bowl, combine mangoes, sugar, flour, salt, lemon juice, cinnamon and nutmeg. Pour mixture into pie shell. Make lattice strips from top crust and fit over top of filling. Crimp and trim crust. Dot top with butter. Bake for 1 hour.
