Ingredients

  • 2 c. to 1 qt. strawberries
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 c. whipping cream
  • 1/2 pint vanilla ice cream
  • 1/4 c. Cointreau

Directions

Keep the berries whole; wash them, hull them, sprinkle with sugar and chill. (For some mysterious reason one uses the same amount of sugar with different amounts of berries.) Prepare berries at least 3 hours before needed. Just before serving, beat the cream until very stiff. Beat the ice cream until fluffy and fold it into the whipped cream. Add the Cointreau, fold in the strawberries and pour it into serving bowl and serve immediately. You may reserve some berries to float of top at the last minute. (This is a heavenly dessert; you must put it together at the last minute. DON'T use berries frozen in syrup for this.)

6-8 servings.
