Ingredients

  • 2 c milk
  • 4 TBLS or 4 pkts yeast
  • 1 tspsalt
  • 1/4 c sugar
  • 1/4 c margarine
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 6 cups flour
  • 2 inch oil in pan for frying
  • maple frosting:
  • 1 cube margarine
  • 3 c powdered sugar
  • 3 T milk
  • capful of mapleine flavoring

Directions

Dissolve yeast in 1/2 c water in a lg mixing bowl.
Place milk and margarine in a glass measuring cup and micro till margarine is melted. Let cool.
Sprinle sugar over yeast mixture and let it grow till it's doubled. Then gradually mix in eggs, flour and milk mixture. (Make sure the milk isn't to hot or to cold or it will kill the yeast. It should be warm to the touch.)

Cover pan with a dish towel and place it in a warm spot. Let it doublein size, then pour it out onto a floured board and rool it out. Cutting the doughnuts with either a glass the right size or a pizza cutter works best for me. Let them rise for another 30 minutes then fry at 350. Cool and frost!
