above
Ingredients
- 10 oz Fresh or frozen Spinach chopped ( I have used Swiss Chard as well
- 8 ozs cream cheese
- 1 cup grated cheese best to use white cheese
- 1 tbsp.fresh dill
- 1 cup mayonaise
- 1 cup sour cram
- 1/4 cup green onions
- 10 oz can waterchestnuts drained & chopped I love this for the crunch
- I have put mushrooms in as well
- 1 large french, italain, pumpernikel, or sour dough bread I like the sour dough the best have tried all the rest
Directions
I like to kinda saute the spinach a bit.
cream cheese together and add spinach, and all other ingredents
Cut thick slice from top of loaf ( keep top intact)
scoop out the remaining bread to about 1/2 from bottom don't make a hole in bottom. Cut the scooped out bread and cut into cubes to be used for dipping later, I just leave in in pieces, place foil in bootom of pizza pan or cookie enough to wrap the whole loaf in for baking, now fill the bread with
mixture and replace lid wrap loaf in foil. Bake at 300 temp for 2 hrs. Again I just bake for about 1/2 to 3/4 of an hour at 350 best to place pan in oven then turn temp on. I get another loaf for dipping any kinda crackers like rice crackers as well, in a day or so if it's just for my family I remove dip from loaf and just save the dip as bottm of loaf gets very soogie if it's all used in one evening that's fine but I like to scoop dip out if any left.
