Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1/2 pound pork sausage (Jimmy Deans' Sage flavor)
  • 1/4 cup minced onion
  • 1/4 cup minced green bell pepper
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 cup prepared bread stuffing mix (I use Pepperidge Farm bread stuffing, the crumbly kind)
  • Warm water
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon marjoram
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup, divided

Directions

Combine ground beef, sausage, onion, and bell pepper. Add eggs. Pour a little warm water, about 1/4 cup over stuffing mix. Stir together, then squeeze as much water out as you can. Add stuffing mix, garlic powder, marjoram and 1/2 the can of mushroom soup. Mix together very well. (Use your hands.) Pack into a loaf pan, pressing down firmly. Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Remove from oven; let stand for 10 minutes. Turn out onto serving platter. Add the remaining half can of soup to the loaf pan. Cook and stir over medium heat, incorporating all the drippings. Serve with the meatloaf.

6 - 8 servings.
