This is the best chocolate pie I have made/eaten in my life. The trick is that you must beat the ingredients for 10 minutes or the pie will not be the consistancy you would like. It sounds like the one you have described. My father got it from a diner owner who would not tell him the ingredients until the day she retired 40 years after opening the diner. It's worth it.

Directions

First the Crust:
1 1/3 cup flour
1/3 cup oil
4 tablsp. milk
i teasp. salt

Mix in bowl with minimum stirring. Roll between wax paper. Bake at 400 degrees until done (slightly browned.)


Now the pie:
Cream with mixer: 1/2 lb. butter (no subst.) Add 1 cup sugar gradually. Blend in 2 squares melted unsweetened chocolate and 2 teasp. vanilla. Add 4 eggs, 2 at a time and beat 5 MINUTES after EACH addition. Use medium speed. Pour into a large pie plate with baked crust that has cooled. Place in refridgerator for min. of 2 hours. Top with whipped cream and walnuts.
