Ingredients

  • 9 medium cucumbers
  • 5 medium onions
  • 3 1/2 tbsp pickling salt boiling water
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped red pepper
  • 2 cups vinegar
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 tbsp celery seed
  • 1 tbsp dry mustard
  • 1 tbsp tumeric

Directions

Grind cucumbers and onions. Sprinkle with pickling salt and cover with boiling water. Let stand 4 h. Drain. Add red peppers. Combine remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Add vegetables and cook 5 min. Pour into hot sterilized jars and seal. May be stored up to 12 months. Makes about 2 quarts.
