I made this when went to Duck, NC. with a bunch of friends. They all asked for the recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 Loaf French bread, cut into 3/4 inch slices
  • 4 Tablespoons butter
  • 2/3 Cup brown sugar
  • 4 Eggs, beaten
  • 2 Cups milk
  • 1/2 Teaspoon cinnamon

Directions

The night before serving, melt butter and brown sugar in a small pan, stirring. Pour into a 9 X 13 inch baking dish. Lay bread slices on top of brown sugar mix. Combine eggs with milk and cinnamon. Pour over the bread. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. In the morning preheat oven to 350 degrees and uncover baking dish. Bake for 30 minutes. Serve with syrup, honey or chopped blueberries mixed with 2 tablesppons of orange juice


Serve 4-6
