Ingredients

  • Angel food cake mix
  • box strawberries (look for really red ripe strawberries)
  • large tub cool whip

Directions

bake an package angel food cake, follow directions carefully for a tall fluffy cake. cool cake,
with a bread knife (serrated knife) slice the cake across into 3 layers. Place the bottom layer on cake plate and cover with cool whip, (Now for Mothers day I tinted mine Cool Whip a pretty pink.) Slice juicy thin layers of strawberries onto cool whip. Then repeat layers. When all layers completed frost outside of cake. I put the largest strawberry from my basket into the center hole with the stem on. Put into refrig for overnight, coolwhip and cake begin to meld together. For a warm day, put the cake in the freezer for about an hour so really more like an icecream cake when it is cut.
