Ingredients

  • 200 grams tofu, cut into 2 cm squares
  • 1 cup champignons, sliced
  • 1 bunch green onions, green leaves included - cut into 2 cm chunks
  • 2 teaspoons cornflour
  • 2 tablespoons sesame or peanut oil
  • Marinade:
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce, diluted in 3/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon crushed garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Directions

Soak tofu in the marinade for at least two hours.
Heat the oil in a pan and saute the mushrooms on a high flame, very shortly
Put mushrooms aside. Strain and saute the tofu until golden brown. Add the onions and continue sauteeing until they are wilted.
Dilute the cornflour in the leftover marinade and add to pan - stir until it thickens. It should not be too thick.
Add the mushrooms and stir everything together.
Can be served on top of brown rice as is, or with the addition of mushroom sauce.
