Ingredients
- 3 cups self-rising flour
- 12 oz. beer, room temperature
- 2 tbsp. sugar
Directions
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Stir together flour and sugar, then pour in beer and stir 25 strokes. Place in buttered bread pan and bake 1 to 1 1/4 hours. Cool and wrap in foil overnight. This bread has a heavy crust.
Variations include the addition of fresh or dried onion, garlic salt, small jar of ground oysters, yogurt for a sourdough flavor, or egg for texture.
