This is a rather large recipe - and historically in the home of my childhood, my Mom halved the recipe for Christmas Day dinner...remembering there were plenty of turkey leftovers from the Evening prior.


  • 1 quart fresh oysters
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 3 cups saltine crackers crushed
  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/4# butter, melted
  • salt, pepper to taste


Mix all the ingredients together just before putting into the oven.
Bake 40 minutes at 425o
Check after 30 minutes...sometimes this dish does not require the full 40 minute baking time.
