Ingredients

  • 1 (15 oz.) can refried beans
  • 1 (1/4 oz.) pkg. taco seasoning (divided)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 (12 oz.) container sour cream
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup picante sauce
  • 2 cups shredded Pepper Jack or Cheddar cheese

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a saucepan, combine refried beans, taco seasoning (reserve 1 tbsp. of seasoning for the sour cream mixture) and 1/4 cup water. Cook over medium heat, stirring until well blended and just warm. Spread beans in a casserole dish and set aside. Combine sour cream, cream cheese, and the reserved tbsp. of taco seasoning. Mix well and spread over bean layer in casserole dish. Pour picante sauce over sour cream/cream cheese layer. Spread shredded cheese over picante sauce. Bake 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly. Serve with tortilla chips.
