Ingredients

  • 1 pk (12 oz) fresh or frozen - cranberries
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 Tbls. orange liqueur or cherry-brandy; optional

Directions

Rinse cranberries, discarding over ripe berries. In a large saucepan, combine cranberries, water, and orange juice.
Cover and bring to a boil; lower heat and cook for 7 to 10 minutes. Strain mixture through fine mesh strainer. Return pulp to pan; discard skins and seeds.
Add sugar and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes. Add liquor and continue cooking for 2 to 3 more
minutes.
Makes about 2 cups.
