Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 medium carrots, peeled and diced
  • 1 large garlic clove, minced
  • 2 pounds ground beef or mixture of beef, pork and veal
  • 1/2 cup fresh bread crumbs
  • 1/3 cup chili sauce
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 5 teaspoons RED DEVIL hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

Directions

In 10-inch skillet over medium heat, in hot oil, cook onion, carrots and garlic about 5 minutes until tender, stirring occasionally. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In large bowl, combine ground meat, bread crumbs, chili sauce, egg, parsley, RED DEVIL hot sauce, salt, oregano and onion mixture. In 13" by 9" baking pan, shape meat mixture into a 10" by 4" loaf. Bake 45 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

Makes 8 servings.
