Ingredients

  • 6 slices buttered white or whole wheat bread
  • 1 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese
  • 8 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • salt, pepper, and oregano to taste

Directions

Line bottom of a lightly greased casserole dish with the buttered bread slices. Sprinkle shredded cheese over bread. Beat eggs together with milk, salt, pepper and oregano. Pour egg mixture evenly over entire casserole. Chill for several hours (or overnight, if desired). Bake at 375 for 50 minutes.
