Ingredients

  • 1 lb. Italian sausage, cut into 1 inch rounds
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 Tbl. Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tube refrigerated pizza crust dough, unrolled and cut into 4 squares

Directions

Preheat oven to 375F. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sausage and cook until browned and no longer pink on the inside, about 7 minutes. Drain and combine with the marinara sauce; mix well. Spoon sausage-sauce mixture into four oven safe bowls, small souffli dishes, or large ramekins. In a bowl, combine ricotta, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, garlic salt, and the egg. Mix well. Top each sausage-sauce mixture with 1/4 cheese mixture then top with 1/4 of the mozzarella. Cover each bowl with a pizza dough square. Prick holes in the top with a fork so the steam can escape. Place all four bowls on a cookie sheet and bake 30 minutes or until the top is lightly browned and the edges are bubbling. Let sit for 10 minutes before serving.
