Ingredients
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup sugar
- tiny pinch salt
- 4 oz. unsweetened chocolate
- 1 egg
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 3/4 - 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 tsp vanilla
Directions
Makes around 1 pint
Melt chocolate in double boiler. Set aside.
Whisk milk, eggs, sugar, and salt until smooth. Then heat slowly till it looks like liquid pudding. Gradually whisk milk mixture into still-warmed chocolate mixture. Keep whisking until smooth. Cool well.
Stir in vanilla and heavy cream. Refrigerate several hours or overnight until well chilled.
Process in ice cream maker.
