Ingredients

  • 1 qt. milk
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3 tblsp. butter
  • 1 loaf French bread
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tlbsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. raisins
  • Whiskey Sauce (recipe below)

Directions

Soak bread in milk and crush until well mixed. Add eggs, sugar, vanilla and raisins and stir well. Pour melted butter into bottom of baking pan or casserole and add other ingredients. Bake at 350 deg. until firm.

Whiskey Sauce

Ingredients:

1/2 c. butter
1 small can Pet milk
1 c. sugar
1 egg yolk, beaten
2 jiggers bourbon

Directions:

Combine butter, Pet milk, sugar and egg yolk in top of double boiler. Cook, stirring over simmering water, until thickened. Stir in bourbon. Serve warm on bread pudding.
