Ingredients

  • A pot of your favorite chili recipe (2 lb meat)
  • 1 small can chopped ortega chilis
  • 1/3 cup corn meal
  • 1 package corn bread mix
  • 1/2 lb sharp cheddar, grated

Directions

Thoroughly mix the chili, peppers and corn meal. Place in a large baking dish. Prepare cornbread mix according to instructions and spoon it onto the meat mixture. Bake until the bread is done. Add cheese on top for garnish. Let it melt down some and serve.
