Ingredients
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 2 onions, sliced
- 2 ribs celery w/leaves, chopped
- 3 pounds whole fryer
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 to 1 t basil
Directions
Put carrots, onions, and celery in bottom of crockpot. Add whole chicken. Top with salt, pepper, liquid. Sprinkle basil over top. Cover and cook on LOW 8-10 hours or HIGH 3 1/2 - 5 hours using 1/2 c liquid. Remove chicken and vegetables and serve.
