• 5 onions peeled and sliced
  • 3 T. butter
  • 2 cans Campbell's beef consomme'
  • day old french bread cut into 2"" slices and toasted
  • swiss cheese


1.In a heavy frying pan, saute onions in butter until they just begin to brown and are pretty soft adding more butter if necessary.

2. Add both cans of consomme' and 2 cans of water, simmer for five minutes.

3. Ladel soup into oven proof bowls and top with toasted bread and swiss cheese.

4. Broil on second rack from the top until cheese is melted and golden.

5. Enjoy!
