Ingredients

  • 3 c milk
  • 2 c old bread cubed
  • 1/4 c sugar
  • 3 T butter melted
  • 4 (1oz) squares semi sweet baking chocolate
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Directions

Heat oven to 350 degrees. In 2 quart saucepan, combine milk and chocolate. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until chocolate is melted, DO NOT BOIL.
With wire whisk, stir milk mix until well blended. Stir in bread and set aside. In a large bowl, combine sugar, eggs, butter, cinnamon, and bread. Place in 1/12 qt casserole. Set casserole in a baking pan, place in oven. Fill baking pan with warm water as high as possible. Bake for 70 to 80 minutes or until knife comes out clean. You may cover with foil if getting too brown.

For the topping combine:
1 c chocolate syrup, warm
1 T bourbon

Serve bread pudding warm, topped with sauce and cream.
