Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 4 ounce bittersweet chocolate, chopped in small pieces (125 g)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, plus additional for sprinkling

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 F (190 C) Grease an 8 inch round pan.
In a double broiler over barely simmering water, melt chocolate with butter. Stir constantly until smooth.
Remove from heat and whisk in sugar. Add eggs and combine well. Sift in cocoa powder, whisking to combine.
Pour batter into baking pan and bake for 25 minutes, or until thin crust has formed. Cool cake for 5 minutes and then transfer to serving plate.
Before serving dust with cocoa powder.
