Ingredients

  • 2 CUPS FLOUR
  • 1/4 CUP SUGAR
  • 1 TABLESPOON BAKING POWDER
  • 1/4 TEASPOON SALT
  • 1 CUP PLUS 2 TABLESPOONS SOUR CREAM
  • 1/4 CUP MINCED CRYSTALLIZED GINGER OR GOLDEN RAISINS
  • 4 TEASPOONS SWEET BUTTER, MELTED
  • 8 TEASPOONS PACKED LIGHT BOWN SUGAR

Directions

PREHEAT OVEN TO 400.
SIFT TOGETHER THE FLOUR, SUGAR, BAKING POWDER AND SALT IN A BOWL.
COMBINE SOUR CREAM AND GINGER OR RAISINS IN A SMALL BOWL. FOLD SOUR CREAM MIXTURE INTO DRY INGREDIENTS, KNEAD BRIEFLY ON LIGHTLY FLOURED SURFACE.
SHAPE INTO EIGHT 3-1/2" ROUNDS, LIGHTLY FLOUR HANDS BECAUSE THE DOUGH WILL BE STICKY. PLACE ON A BAKING SHEET SPRAYED WITH VEGETABLE OIL SPRAY AND BRUSH TOPS WITH WITH MELTED BUTTER AND SPRINKLE WITH BROWN SUGAR.
BAKE UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN AROUND EDGES ABOUT 12 TO 14 MINUTES.
