Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 6 chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup Crisco(shortening)
  • 1 jar(12oz.)orange marmalade
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds

Directions

Combine flour, salt and pepper in plastic or paper bag. Add chicken pieces, a few at a time, and shake to coat. In large skillet, brown chicken on all sides in hot Crisco. Meanwhile, combine orange marmalade, ginger, and water. Place browned chicken in shallow baking dish and pour orange mixture over the top. Sprinkle with nuts. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 1 hour or until chicken is tender; baste occasionally with sauce. Makes 6 servings
