Ingredients

  • 16 slices white bread, crust removed
  • 6 thin slices ham
  • 6 thin slices Swiss cheese
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • dash of Tabasco sauce
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup each: chopped green and red peppers, zucchini, broccoli, sautied
  • 1 cup crushed Corn Flakes
  • 1/4 cup melted butter

Directions

Place 1 layer bread slices on bottom of greased 9x13 inch (3 L) baking dish. Top with layer of ham and layer of cheese, then another layer of bread. Beat eggs with dry mustard, salt, pepper, Worcestershire, tabasco and milk. Pour over bread evenly. Just before baking, sprinkle on vegetables. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Toss Corn Flakes with melted butter and sprinkle over casserole. Bake at 350 F (180 C) for 50 to 60 minutes until puffed and golden. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.


Per serving: 633 calories, 30.5 g protein, 34 g fat, 50 g carbohydrate. Serves 6 to 8.
