Ingredients
- 1 Tblsp butter or margarine
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup chopped green pepper
- 1 lb frozen bread dough, thawed
- 1/4 lb thinly sliced ham
- 1/4 lb thinly sliced hard salami, casing removed
- 1/4 lb thinly sliced provolone cheese
- 1 1/2 oz thinly sliced pepperoni
- banana peppers, sliced into rings
Directions
In large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions, garlic, and green pepper. Cook, stirring often, 2 to 3 minutes or until tender. Remove from heat. Line a large baking sheet with heavy-duty aluminum foil. Place dough on foil and pat out to a 14" square. Layer meats and cheese down center of dough. Top with onion and green pepper mixture. Place banana pepper rings on top of this layer. With sharp knife make 8 cuts, to within 1 1/2" of filling, along the long sides of dough. Alternately fold strips overlapping, into center over filling. Cover and let rise in a warm draft-free place 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until doubled in size. Preheat oven to 350 F. Uncover and bake 45 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand 10 minutes before slicing. Serve hot.
