• 1 large ripe avocado
  • 8 ounces canned deviled ham
  • 3 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 green onion, minced
  • 1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce, or to taste
  • Crackers or raw vegetables


Cut avocado in half and remove inner seed. Scoop out inner flesh into a mixing bowl, reserving the outer halves of the shell. Mash avocado and blend with ham, cheese, and onion. Stir in hot pepper sauce to taste. Spoon mixture back into the avocado shells. Serve with crackers or raw vegetables.

Serves 6. Nutrition per serving (without crackers or raw vegetables): 240 calories, 16 gms (78% fat calories), 43 mg cholesterol, 395 mg sodium. Diabetic Exchanges per serving (without crackers or raw vegetables): = Meat, 3 Fat.
