Next night I add cooked carrots and serve over pasta. Quick and hearty meal for winter. Don't actually have a recipe just ad lib! I never use the exact amounts of butter, flour, etc. You can make a hundred different things with this white sauce! LOL
Ingredients
- 3 Ts Flour
- 3 Ts Butter
- Milk
- White Pepper (optional)
- Chicken Bouillon (cubes)
- Chicken Breasts (boiled)
Directions
Melt butter in skillet and stir in flour until lightly browned. Then remove from heat and whisk in milk or cream until desired thickness (it will continue to thicken). Cut up boiled chicken into cubes and add to sauce. Continue to simmer and add milk as needed. Add bouillon cubes (2) and continue simmerings. At last minute I usually add green peas and serve over cornbread.
