Ingredients

  • 1 lb. box elbow macaroni
  • 1/4 c. margarine
  • 1/4 c. plain flour
  • 1 qt. milk
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 4 c. shredded Cheddar cheese

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Boil pasta according to package directions. Drain. In large saucepan, melt margarine. Stir in flour to make a paste. Add in milk gradually & cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens & boils 1 minute. Remove from heat. Add cheese, pepper and salt. Mix well. Fold in cooked pasta. Pour into a greased casserole. You can add some extra cheese on the top. Bake uncovered for 20 minutes.
