Sometimes I eliminate the ketchup mixture on top and make a package of Knoor's brown gravy mix and serve with mashed potatoes and gravy for a truly down home comfort meal. I swear Knoors is very close to homemade gravy. You could even leave the ketchup mixture on and still serve with the gravy. Also a green veggie like peas goes teriffically.
Ingredients
- 3/4 lb ground beef
- 1/4 lb ground veal
- 1/4 lb ground pork
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1/3 cup chopped green peppers
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon sage
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
- 1/4 cup Ketchup
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
Directions
Mix first 9 ingredients in a large bowl until well mixed. Put mixture into loaf pan or into a pan with 1 inch sides and mold into round or oblong shape. Bake 350 degrees for an hour.
Mix last 3 ingredients and spread over baked meatloaf and return to oven for 10 minutes. Let set for 10 min.
