Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/4 c. powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. water
  • 1 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 24 maraschino cherries, with stems (well drained)

Directions

Cream butter and blend in sugar. Add water and stir in flour and salt, mixing well. Use spoon to dip out dough and then shape around cherry, leaving stem uncovered. Roll in colored sugar or leave plain. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 325 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Makes 2 dozen.
