This is the simplest and my favorite way to eat soft crabs (note my email address). You can follow the same directions if the crab is frozen. Just fry a little longer and you may want to press down on the crab with a spatula while it is frying. This gets out the extra water.
Ingredients
- cleaned soft shell crab (gills, apron and "face" removed. If you buy them frozen..they will already be cleaned)
- butter
- flour
- salt & pepper
Directions
Heat small frying pan. Add a few tablespoons of butter (or margarine). Salt & pepper the crab. Lightly flour the crab. Fry (med/low heat)on each side until legs are crisp (approx 10 - 15 min each side?). Serve as a sandwich on white bread (must be white bread, hon) with lettuce, tomato & mayo or eat them as is.
