This makes two separate cakes. I've never made this but I've eaten it at the Jewish Food Festival and it is wonderful.
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup sour cream
- 3 eggs
- 3 tsp vanilla
- 2 1/2 cup flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- TOPPING
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips
- mix together and set aside
Directions
Preheat oven to 350. Grease two 9" cake pans. In large bowl cream butter and sugar. Blend in sour cream. Add eggs 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla, flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Mix well. Layer 1/4 of the batter in each cake pan. Sprinkle each with 1/4 of the topping. Repeat. Bake for approximately 35-40 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean of batter when inserted into the center of cake.
