After searching through 10 or 12 Bread Machine cookbooks, rolled oats were mentioned in most recipies. Few had whole milk, most had powdered, a few like this one used butter milk. Give it a try, and enjoy
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1 egg
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 cup bread flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tabsp. honey
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 2 tsp. Red Star brand active yeast for all bread machines
Directions
Place all ingredients in pan, (according to your Bread makers directions)select Light crust setting. After cycle ends, remove from pan, place on rack, and allow to cool 1 hour before slicing. Makes a 1 Pound Loaf.
