• 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup cream
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 2 TBLsp. butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup pecans


Measure and put sugar, brown sugar, cream, milk and butter in saucepan. Place over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture boils briefly. Test in cold water for soft ball stage. When this occurs, remove from heat and put in a generous teaspoon of vanilla. Allow to cool, then beat until candy begins to thicken: quickly add pecans and pour onto foil, on buttered dish.
