Ingredients

  • 7 heaped desertspoon of plain flour (non rising)
  • 125g butter
  • about 1 litre milk
  • nutmeg (optional)
  • tasty cheese (150g)
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions

Melt butter in pot, add flour, cook flour for about 5 minutes on medium to high. (This is to get rid of the flour taste)
Add milk, mix thoroughly, and continue stirring, once the milk comes to the boil, the sauce will thicken, if you find that the mixture is too thick add a little more milk, add cheese, nutmeg, salt and pepper, stir until cheese has melted.
