I sometimes use Gravy Master or other darkening agent (1 to 2 TBSP) to make the gravy a deep, rich dark brown after I have it all blended.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb.ground beef
  • 1 small chopped onion (1/2 cup)
  • 1 pkg mixed vegtables
  • 1 pkg Knorr brown gravy mix
  • 6 med potatoes
  • 1 pkg. grated cheddar cheese

Directions

Brown gound beef and chopped onion together. Drain. Mix in thawed frozen vegtables. Stir in the gravy mix and amount of water the package calls for. Simmer till bubbly. Make mashed potatoes. Place beef mixture into either individual small ramekin or casserole dishes or use 1 large one. Top either with mashed potatoes and sprinkle cheddar cheese over the potatoes. Place in oven at 350 degrees until all is bubbly, and cheese melts.
