Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 4 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg, beaten

Directions

*Mix the yeast and sugar until liquid. Pour melted butter into yeast mixture. Add warmed milk. Combine flour and salt. Make a well in the flour mixture and add the yeast mixture and the well beaten egg. Allow to proof until double in size. Cut up into small pieces and shape. Allow to proof again for about one hour. Bake in hot oven (425 degrees.) for about 15 - 20 minutes.

Makes 8 to 12 servings. *They must be referring to cake yeast. I don't think dry yeast and sugar will become liquid no matter how much mixing.
