Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 4 (1.4 oz.) milk chocolate bars Hershey's

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease a 9-inch square cake pan. Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl. Stir to combine. Turn directly into prepared pan; spread out evenly. Make 3 holes, spaced evenly in the dry ingredients. Into one pour vegetable oil, another vinegar and the third vanilla. Pour water over all. Stir with a fork until well combined, don't miss the corners of the pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes, until cake tests done. Remove pan from oven and set on a rack. Don't turn cake out of pan. Place candy bars evenly on top of hot cake; allow to soften for a mintute, then spread evenly over cake. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.


8 to 10 servings.
