This is my grandmothers and mother's recipe, Enjoy
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb. butter
- 2 C sugar
- 4 large eggs, separated
- 1 1/2 C buttermilk
- 1 lb. graham crackers
- 1/2 C nut meats (optional)
- Whipped cream or ice cream
Directions
Cream butter and sugar.  Add egg yolks, then graham crackers, crumbled, and buttermilk, fold in nut meats if desired.
 
 Fold in egg white, gently.
 
 Grease and flour pans, if using spring or tube pan, bake 1 hour, if using (2) 9" pans, bake for 45 minutes at 325F.
 
 Cool and serve with whipped cream or ice cream
